This is St. Joseph's Catholic Church in downtown San Antonio. It was built in 1868 by a group of German Catholic imigrants. In 1945 it was almost bought by Joske's Department Store and torn down so the store could expand. The parishoner's fought hard and prevailed to keep their church. As a result, St. Joseph's Church stands today encircled by a department store that is part of the Rivercenter Mall.
